Abhishek Banerjee questioned the Centre’s decision to exclude Trinamool Congress’s chosen representative from the recent ‘terror outreach’ delegation. He asked how the central government could unilaterally decide on TMC’s participation without any consultation. “They should have discussed with the opposition to decide which party would send which representative,” Banerjee said, criticising the lack of coordination and dialogue.
He further added, “How can the BJP decide which representative Trinamool will send?” Banerjee clarified that the TMC is not boycotting the meeting, countering reports suggesting otherwise. He also emphasised that the Trinamool is the only party that has not politicised the issue of national security.
